I am an Esthetician and not a Medical Physician. If you have any questions regarding your health or medical diagnosis you will need to consult with your Physician.
Do I have to get waxed before the treatment?
Yes. The products can't effectively get into the skin if the hairs are blocking the pores and as long as you're not irritated or have any open cuts. You can get waxed on the same day as getting this treatment.
Can I do this treatment after laser hair removal?
Yes but I recommend waiting at least a week to avoid any issues.
Is there any downtime and is it painful?
No
Will the treatment discolor any hairs or peel my skin?
No. It will only target the pigment on your skin.
Will the hyperpigmentation come back?
There's always a chance that it could come back. A number of factors can trigger an increase in melanin production, but the main ones are sun exposure, hormonal influences, age and skin injuries or inflammation. This is where the At-Home Kit comes in to keep maintaining your skin.
Do the products contain hydroquinone?
No, the products are all-natural and do not contain harsh chemicals like hydroquinone, kojic acid or mercury. Hydroquinone is associated with many unpleasant side effects and it is our opinion that it is not appropriate for use on intimate areas.
How long does it take to see results?
Most clients will see results very quickly in just a few days or weeks. However, it all depends on the cause and severity of the discoloration. Everybody is different. Discolorations like scars and burn marks typically show results quickly. While ongoing hormonal issues can take longer. There will be faster results with consistent use of the Take Home Kit.
Are the products okay for sensitive skin?
All of the products are formulated to gentle and mild on sensitive skin and sensitive areas. With that said, everybody is different. If you have any known sensitivities, we strongly recommend doing a small patch test before applying to a sensitive area.
Should I wear sunscreen?
Yes, we generally recommend wearing clothing that covers and protects the skin along with a good broad protection sunscreen product. Sun exposure will activate the melanin in your skin cells, so you want to protect your skin and prevent tanning of dark areas that you want to lighten.
How does the products work?
The product recognizes your skin tone and brings your skin to your natural pigment. It will target parts of the body with overproduction of melanin and will activate down and slowly suppress it back to the original skin tone.
How many times can I do the treatment?
Most people will come on their regular wax appointment every month but you can also come back once a week if you want to. No more than once a week to avoid any irritation.
Recommendation: 4-6 treatments for best results with the proper at-home care products we have in-store for retail.
Do I really need the Instant Results Kit?
Yes. You have to use the kit everyday consistently. The kit penetrates deeper into the skin since the excess melanin is produced deep in the skin layers. You have to go to the source to block the melanin production. As those layers come to the surface, that is when you start to see the real level results. The take home maintenance is what will deliver the deeper, longer-lasting results over time. It is the combination of the In-house service and the take home kit that makes this system so effective.
If the treatment only works on the surface layers of the skin but the take home products penetrates deeper into the skin, what's the benefit for me to come in for the treatment instead of just buying the products?
It doesn't only work on the surface layers but primarily. It kick starts the results by making the products penetrate deep into the skin. The In-house service accelerates the results compared to using the take home only.
